Live Your Dream

The LIVE YOUR DREAM AWARD application period runs from August 15th to November 15th. This award supports education and training for women.

The 2023-2024 recipients are:

Kayla Heckathorn

We congratulate first place winner Kayla Heckathorn, a Sequim mother of two whose goal is to be a registered nurse. References describe Kayla as hardworking and determined to get her degree in the medical field. Kayla’s paperwork was submitted to the Northwestern Region and she was chosen for a region award.

 

 

Dolcenia Montero  

Second place winner is Dolcenia Montero. Also a mother of two, Dolcenia is from Port Townsend and she is working toward a Multimedia Communications, Graphics degree from Peninsula College. References describe Dolcenia as having strong communication skills. They tell us Dolcenia has worked hard to
overcome difficult situations.

 

 

These $1000 – $3000 awards are available to women who have financial need and provide the primary financial support for their dependents. To qualify, you must be enrolled in, or have been accepted to, a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program.

The funds are given to the awardee and may be used for any purpose that will help them reach their career and educational goals.  This award is to help you enter or re-enter the job market, or to further your skills and training to upgrade your employment status.


Last Year’s Live Your Dream Award Recipient

SHAWN BEBO

Our first place Live Your Dream Award winner is Shawn Bebo. She has two children and is a single mom. She is a nursing student at Peninsula College and will complete her degree program this June. Her goal is to work in addiction recovery, hopefully at the Jamestown Clinic. Her family has a history of addiction and it’s made a strong impression on her. Shawna will compete on a regional level for additional awards.
